Kaba Embedded Access Control
Kaba Access Control and Biometric products deliver a new way to practice access control management. An embedded access control application on the controller eliminates the need for software or servers, providing a web-based physical access control system (PACS) that is simple to install and use right out of the box. This system is a very robust industrial grade solution.
The history of Kaba dates back to 1862 when Franz Bauer established his locksmithing and safe building company, KassaBauer (translated Bauer Safe). The Kaba name is a contraction of KassaBauer. In 1978, Kaba entered the U.S. market by establishing Kaba High Security Locks Corporation in Southington, Connecticut. In 2001, Kaba acquired North American based, Unican Security Systems Ltd., which included Ilco keys and Simplex mechanical pushbutton locks, as well as various electronic access control products. It was Unican that pioneered the pushbutton lock, introducing the first mechanical pushbutton lock in 1964. Today, with over 150 years of experience, Kaba is one of the oldest and largest suppliers of access control products in the world. Kaba has approximately 7,400 employees with operations in over 60 countries. Kaba Access Controls is based in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, and offers a diversified product line of access control solutions.
